Having earned a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge in 2012, Raquel is quite familiar with the power of harvesting data to test our knowledge of the world and use it to improve our lives. She is passionate about mentoring fellow data scientists and leading teams towards actionable data insights. After a career in academia in the U.K. and in the U.S., Raquel has worked in U.K. and Portuguese start-ups in a number of machine learning subject areas, including fraud detection and prevention, market segmentation, and forecast demand.
Raquel currently works at Jungle.AI as a senior data scientist at the forefront of predictive analytics using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence. She is also an assistant professor of Computational Sciences at San Francisco-based Minerva Schools at KGI.
